The City Of Red Deer Inside Out Newsletter Design

The City of Red Deer publishes their "Inside Out" newsletter twice a year and we get to design it.

Most issues involve a fairly intense bit of photographic art direction and a bit of creative flair to present charts and graphs in a new way. In May 2010, we pushed the envelope even further when we were presented with the theme for this year's issue "Vibrant". We used brightly coloured paper and foarm core to collage a multi-level scale version of the document (about 30" x 40"). This gave us a colourful, richly textured peice of artwork to photograph and use for the newsletter background. The finished product is unique within the collection and is our favourite so far. If you didn't get your's in the mail, City Hall in Red Deer has copies for the public.

One of the more enjoyable parts of this project is meeting all the different staff and people chronicled in the articles, and we've learned more than our fair share about this fine city through this project. It's delivered to every household in Red Deer, so we certainly hope people enjoy it.
